A reporter moves into the ominous Long Island house to debunk it of the recent supernatural events<\/h3>\n

Not even a year after the sequel and we get another release.<\/h3>\n

Although this film takes place at the Amityville House, it is not a sequel to “The Amityville Horror” or “Amityville II: The Possession”. The events in the first two films were based on supposed ‘true events’.<\/h3>\n

The plot for this film has since become Paranormal 101 but back when this was released it was still quite new and intriguing,\u00a0A magazine writer who happens to debunk psychics ends up buying the infamous house for cheap.<\/h3>\n

\"Capture\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The film itself isn’t to bad and the acting is quite good, you can always rely on\u00a0Tony Roberts to put in a good performance that keeps your attention and yes that is a young Meg Ryan. Also seasoned Director\u00a0Richard Fleischer knew exactly what he was doing and his experience shined throughout the feature.<\/h3>\n

Due to it’s poor box office performance, this would be the last film in the series released theatrically(well, until the 2005 remake) and personally I would’ve left it here but we all know that didn’t happen.<\/h3>\n

\"Amityville<\/a><\/h3>\n

“Amityville 3D: The Demon” is a decent enough film, true it’s not as good as the previous 2 but it’s still a worthwhile addition to the franchise.<\/h3>\n

Miscellaneous facts about the film:<\/h3>\n

Originally filmed in 3-D. As of 2006, the only commercial 3-D release is on the UK released Region 2 PAL Collector’s Edition DVD.<\/h3>\n

The Amityville Realty phone number is 666-1818. The “666” is the number of the beast as told in the Book of Revelation in the Hebrew Bible. “1818” was the year that Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” was first published, which is credited as the originator of the horror genre.<\/h3>\n
