When Katie innocently accepts an offer to have new photos taken for her portfolio, the experience quickly turns into a nightmare of rape, torture and kidnapping.<\/h3>\n

After the popularity of the remake it was only a matter of time before a sequel was made.<\/h3>\n

By now you should know how these movies work, though that doesn’t mean that they’re predictability makes it bad viewing though,\u00a0especially with Director\u00a0Steven R. Monroe returning. He did a great job with the reboot and I was happy to see him carry on the franchise, he was the logical choice.<\/h3>\n

This time we see a new character, ‘Katie’, an aspiring model who ends up in a very bad situation. It’s the sort of story that urban legends are made of and in that sense it makes for fun viewing as it’s something we feel we can, in some way, relate to.<\/h3>\n

By now the previous films’ reputations are what the franchise is going on, it’s the films’ foundation so to speak. We expect the rape scene and violence that comes with it and we expect to be grossed out with\u00a0cringe inducing moments.\u00a0Expectations can be a bad thing though.<\/h3>\n

Whilst we get all of that in this feature it isn’t the shocking uncomfortableness we’ve had before, maybe it’s because our society as a whole is desensitized or that it’s our expectations are too high but as entertaining as it was it didn’t have the shock factor we’re looking for.<\/h3>\n

“I Spit On Your Grave 2” is a decent enough sequel, it just seemed to lack something that I can’t quite put my finger on.<\/h3>\n
