Well folks, there you have it. The entire \u201c[REC]\u201d franchise review.<\/h3>\n

I have to say I’ve really enjoyed looking back over this franchise.<\/h3>\n

This was the first time I had watched these films in a very, very long time and it was fun to watch them again and in such a small time instead of waiting for the next release. Did you know if you watch “[Rec]”, “[Rec] 2” (2009) and “[REC] 4: Apocalypse” back to back without watching the end credits, the three movies would play out as one entire sequence of events, how awesome is that.<\/h3>\n

Barely a year after the release of “[Rec]” the inevitable English speaking remake was released under the title “Quarantine” starring Jennifer Carpenter, I watched it purely out of intrigue but I felt there was no need for it.\u00a0Both Jaume Balaguer\u00f3 and Paco Plaza the writers\/directors of the original movie, have expressed their big dissatisfaction with the remake.<\/h3>\n

I have to say those first two films were fantastic, they helped break down boundaries for foreign Horror and certainly helped put the Spanish Horror scene back on the map. I just wish they’d have stuck to the films signature found footage format that we all loved, it helped make those films what they were, the two sequels well the less said about “[Rec] 3: G\u00e9nesis” the better and “[Rec]\u00a04: Apocalypse” had potential but fell short.<\/h3>\n

Writers\/directors Jaume Balaguer\u00f3 and Paco Plaza have announced that there will not be a fifth installment to this series even though the ending of Rec 4: Apocalypse (2014) was left open there will no continuation to the story. I don’t buy too much into that to be honest, we’ve heard he same thing a million times before and let us not forget the old saying, never say never.<\/h3>\n

“[Rec]” is a fun franchise, as I said those first two films were fantastic, I can only imagine what could’ve been with the other entries.<\/h3>\n
