When a group of misfits are hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house and acquire a rare VHS tape, they discover more found footage than they bargained for.<\/h4>\n

I still remember seeing the trailer for this film for the first time, I got seriously excited for its release. As someone who is a huge fan of Horror anthology films this was a great film for me, as I know it was for many others who are fans of the sub genre.<\/h4>\n

I had seriously high hopes for this release, I was actually quite nervous because I hate it when I get my hopes up for a film (something that I try to rarely do) only to be let down, it has happened way too much. Luckily I and other fans weren’t disappointed.<\/h4>\n

There are five segments featured in the film plus a wraparound story and one thing that shocked me was that not one story was weak, no segment was a letdown, every single one was entertaining and catered to a different crowd so there was something for everyone.<\/h4>\n

The most important thing to me about this release was that it confirmed one thing, Anthology Horror was truly making a comeback and I for one could not have been happier about it. I also loved listening to and reading different peoples reactions to the film as it managed to cross that barrier into mainstream.<\/h4>\n

“V\/H\/S” to me is the modern equivalent of films like “Creepshow” and I think it certainly merits a watch if you haven’t already seen it.<\/h4>\n

Miscellaneous facts about the film:<\/h4>\n

The brick house the three guys break into where all the VHS tapes are located is the same house from Marble Hornets, a found footage web series on YouTube that popularized Slender Man.<\/h4>\n

The word “fuck” is said around 240 times.<\/h4>\n

One segment takes place in 1998.<\/h4>\n

Tuesday the 17th would take place right after Friday the 13th. The name and camping setting is a reference to the Friday the 13th (1980) series.<\/h4>\n

Sam and Stephanie’s fortune card from the machine in “Second Honeymoon” alludes to the other arcs of the anthology, as well as its own arc.<\/h4>\n
