{"id":544,"date":"2010-11-11T08:36:05","date_gmt":"2010-11-11T08:36:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/?p=544"},"modified":"2011-02-13T23:32:04","modified_gmt":"2011-02-13T23:32:04","slug":"new-360-improvement-or-failure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/somewhatnerdy.com\/home\/new-360-improvement-or-failure\/","title":{"rendered":"New 360, Improvement Or Failure?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So a little less than a year ago my Xbox 360 red ringed on me, the third 360 I<br \/>\nmight add, and at the time I didn\u2019t have the funds to go buy a new on and  after<br \/>\ndays of trying to fix my 360 that was out of warrantee myself I gave  up. \u00a0\u00a0Then<br \/>\nthe Microsoft gods graced us with the new Xbox 360. \u00a0It has a  250gb hd, its<br \/>\nsmaller, comes with built in wireless n, and biggest selling  point Microsoft<br \/>\nswears that it will shut its self down before it red rings.  \u00a0So of course being<br \/>\nXboxless I threw away old busted and went and purchased  the new hotness. \u00a0Less<br \/>\nthan 6 months after buying the console I have already  sent it back once.<br \/>\nApparently instead of making a fully stable system the  decided just to focus on<br \/>\nthe red ring issue by making the CPU and GPU a  single chip and adding a more<br \/>\nefficient fan. \u00a0Well as I read about it, I see  that yeah the system won\u2019t red<br \/>\nring due to shutting its self off prior to  freezing. \u00a0But what it will do is<br \/>\ncause the power brick light to turn red  and stop working, this is now being<br \/>\ncalled the red brick of death. \u00a0I could  deal with that, the problem I keep<br \/>\nrunning into is the DVD drive. \u00a0What  happens is it will let me play and get into<br \/>\nthe game then all the sudden it  tells me clean disc error even with new games<br \/>\nlike Fallout New Vegas. \u00a0And  the best part I just received the repaired console<br \/>\nback and after about an  hour of New Vegas it has started again.<\/p>\n<p>My suggestion is if you are  looking to get a new 360 buy the original one it was<br \/>\nmore reliable at least  you could get a good year and a half out of it before it<br \/>\nred rings. \u00a0I give  this new console a four out of five on the Bag O Dicks meter<br \/>\nfor having the  same if not more problems.<\/p>\n<p>P.S. \u00a0\u00a0Hey Microsoft\u2026\u2026 You have beaten Sony  over and over again in the gaming<br \/>\nfield. \u00a0How about instead of rushing a  product to have it out to compete with<br \/>\nothers you fire everyone of your  peace of shit quality control and product<br \/>\ntesting employees and hire some  real gamers who can really test the system and<br \/>\nmake a console that fucking  works<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/somewhatnerdy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/xbox-360-250gb-front.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-546\" title=\"360-250gb\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/somewhatnerdy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/xbox-360-250gb-front.jpg?resize=480%2C302\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"302\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So a little less than a year ago my Xbox 360 red ringed on me, the third 360 I might add, and at the time &hellip;
