\"\"<\/a>So here we are with the last installment of the Halloween series (so far). It’s been a year since the events in the previous film and Michael is once again back on the hunt for Laurie.<\/p>\n

This sequel was highly anticipated for those who enjoyed the remake. Personally, I didn’t enjoy it at all and I’ll explain why…..<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The film was a mess from the start, Rob Zombie didn’t want a sequel to his first installment, but the studio had the rights to and after it made a profit of $65M what studio wouldn’t. Zombie didn’t want anyone else messing with his “vision” of Halloween so he begrudgingly signed on to do it.<\/p>\n

The whole film lacks the heart and spirit of previous Halloween films, yes even the bad ones. It felt like Zombie was trying to kill it off with this film so no more would be made, but it truly backfired on him, as fans were left bewildered by a strange plot and thought Zombie hadn’t the experience to carry on such a successful franchise.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The film truly does kill what was left of Myers, we see him without his mask, we see him eat and if you watch the directors cut you even hear him speak. Myers, or as I call him Hobo Myers (See photo above) is made too human for us, not the silent, expressionless “shadow” we all know and love.<\/p>\n

It takes more than one watch to take it all in to try and wrap your head around it. But most people I know never gave it that chance, some even refusing to watch the film to the end they were so appalled with what they were watching.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The nail in the coffin for me was the characteristics of Dr. Loomis, turned into an egocentric, fame hungry know it all. He abuses his past experience with Michael for his own wealth and fame, but it never seems enough<\/p>\n

It was a brave move by Zombie, not just with Dr. Loomis but the whole concept of his 2 films. He tried to modernize Myers for today’s generation, but for fans of the franchise it was no good.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Zombie does have a bright future in Horror, he is still finding his way and still learning, I feel that if these films were in more experienced hands then things could’ve been different.<\/p>\n

Laurie has a picture of Charles Manson over her bed. Later, after Lynda’s father tries to kill Loomis, it is revealed that the gun was not loaded – just like the gun Manson follower Squeaky Fromme pointed at President Gerald Ford.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Tyler Mane is only the second person to portray Michael Myers twice along with George P. Wilbur<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the director’s cut, Micheal takes off his mask and yells “Die” before stabbing Dr. Loomis. Based on this scene, it marks the first time ever in the series where Michael Myers actually speaks. This is also the first time the characters face can be seen clearly.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
