Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers pushing into eastern Germany stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein’s work to assemble an army of super-soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades — a desperate Hitler’s last ghastly ploy to escape defeat.

For those of you who don’t know I’m a HUGE Frankenstein fan and when I’ll be honest with the fact that when the news of this film was released I wasn’t best pleased. I have no problem with watching a genius mad scientist at work all over again, it’s the fact that just like the zombie genre, I feel that Nazi’s have been overdone. We’ve been there, done that and seen it too many times. Despite this I’m keeping an open mind as I’m intrigued to see how the story is played out.

Now one thing I love about this film is the anonymity surrounding it, there has been very few stills released and the teaser trailers leave you a little confused yet very curious (well done to the marketing team!). This is quite rare in today’s industry as we’re used to seeing trailers jam packed with all the films best bits and some even have sites with a gallery filled with stills before the films even released, the film has a true mystique about it and that is what has got me gripped. I would write more but I’d actually like to keep my fascination quite high.
