In the opening of issue #3, we find Adam and Teela trying to enjoy a meal at a port in Sand’s End. Teela is trying to help Adam remember his past as well as her own. Teela seems to have adapted to her memory loss better than Adam has. Teela got them passage on a ship, so can you guess which villain is in this issue?
The next few pages take us to Castle Grayskull. We find Skeletor in a one-sided conversation while eating a hearty meal. His uncooperative dinner guess is the Sorceress, who appears to be in some sort of trance. Skeletor has realized that the power of He-man wasn’t from the sword itself, but from Castle Grayskull and he wants the Sorceress to tell him where to find it.
Meanwhile, back on the ship, Teela realizes they are being watched. While she explains this to Adam the ship is attacked by a sea monster. The sea monster is not alone. Now, Teela and Adam must face the wrath of Mer-Man. Of course, Teela and Adam go into action trying to save the ship, but Mer-Man seems to have full control of the situation. Problem is, Mer-Man talks too much and he gives, clues to Adam’s past while fighting the woodsman.
Teela and Adam put up a good fight, but Mer-Man puts up a better one. I guess with them being at sea gave Mer-Man the advantage, or did it? We will have to wait and see in issue #4 titled, The Island of Doom!
This issue deserves a 10 out of 10 rating. It has great writing, great art, and some of the pieces are finally fitting in the puzzle. I haven’t been this excited about the world of He-man in a long time. I am glad that DC Comics is publishing this book and I am really impressed with Keith Giffen’s writing. Get your issue today!
