Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  Today’s interview is brought to you from across the pond.  The subject of this interview is Stacey Rebecca and she is as talented as she is beautiful!  Without further delay, here is my interview with Stacey Rebecca.

1. Who are you and where are you from?

My name’s Stacey Rebecca and I’m from London, England :)

 2. How did you discover cosplay?

I was always into dressing up for costume parties and stuff like that, but I didn’t really discover cosplay until I started going to conventions. I have to say, I didn’t really understand it at first – it was all a bit weird to me! I just used to go along and watch everyone else. It takes a lot of guts to cosplay in public, that’s for sure!

 3. I really love your Mary Jane cosplay.  What made you choose her?

Honestly? I was looking for something relatively easy to make, to try and get started with making my own costumes. I’m a big Internet nerd, and I remembered the time Tumblr went mental over the J Scott Campbell cover of Amazing Spider-Man #601, and essentially just thought it would be really funny to recreate it. I was giggling the entire way through the shoot, it felt totally ludicrous!

 4. Who is your favorite hero to cosplay?

Cosplaying as Connor from Assassin’s Creed 3 is my favourite, I feel like such a badass with all my weapons! :D

 5. Do you have any new cosplays in mind?

I like to keep my cosplays a secret for two reasons: in case someone steals my idea and does it before I do, and just in case something goes wrong and I can’t pull it off! I’ve got a couple things underway, one DC and one Marvel – but you’ll have to keep an eye on my page for clues and progress pictures!

 6. What is your favorite way to show off your cosplay?

Personally I feel much more comfortable on photoshoots than I do parading around in costume at conventions. I’m actually really shy in real life, so having people looking at me and asking for my picture and stuff makes me feel totally awkward! I’m trying to do more of them though, nothing like throwing yourself in at the deep end to get over your fears!

 7. I also love your Poison Ivy cosplay.  How did that idea come about?

I’m a huge Batman fan and have always to cosplay Poison Ivy but have seen it done so many times. My favourite comic book Poison Ivy’s are the ones where the leaves are flowing freely around her body, not stuck to her dress. I wanted to create that flow, so we created the leaves in post production. I was really pleased with the results! I only like to do things if I think I can bring a fresh angle to the character.

 8. What are your plans for the future?

I’m hoping to make a trip or two to the States for some conventions to have some fun and meet some fans, that would be amazing! I’m currently selling prints (amongst other things) at staceyrebecca.storenvy.com to raise money for my flights. Everyone has been so supportive so far, it’s amazing. Seeing my photos on people’s walls is totally ridiculous and humbling! Cosplay wise I’m hoping to get some experience with foam, armour and weapons etc. So many things to experiment with!

 9. Where can my readers see more examples of your work?

My Facebook page is my hub, it’s also the best place to message me if you want to get in touch – interacting with people is really important to me so I try to reply to every message, which can be pretty full on at times! www.facebook.com/staceyrebeccaaltmodel

 10. If you had to choose, which one of your cosplays is your favorite?

Connor! So much time and effort went into that baby, it’s definitely my proudest cosplay :)
