Every once in a while I like to interview those people who are “behind the scenes” of cosplay.  Today’s interview is one of those times.  I discovered G Wayne’s talents through a cosplayer I am interviewed for the site.  You see, G Wayne is a body painter, a very talented one at that.  I asked him if he was willing to do an interview and here we are.  So, sit back and relax as we dive in the mind of G Wayne.

1. Who are you and where are you from?

My name is Gary Wayne, I’m originally from Louisville Kentucky and moved here to Orlando Florida when I was about 5 and have lived here ever since.

2. What made you get into the art form known as body painting?

I’ve always been Into art. Specifically airbrushing, and body painting has always been amazing to me and I finally was able to get Into it full swing about a year ago.

3. I saw a sneak of a Nightcrawler cosplay that you did with our friend Ivy Cosplay, whose idea was that?

The Nightcrawler with Ivy cosplay was my idea and she was able to make really nice gloves boots and a tail to go along with that shoot. Edited pics should be out soon.

4. On average, how long does it take to body paint a cosplayer before a shoot?

Average paint time ranges from hour and a half to three  and a half. The bumble bee shoot I did took about 4 hours to paint.

5. Where can my readers see your art?

Readers can check my Facebook at Facebook.com/Gwayneart

I’m also on Instagram at Gwayneart
Plus I have a store that showcases my art as well at www.gwayneart.storenvy.com

6. Do you have anything you would like to promote right now?

I will be opening a online shop soon to sell prints. But if anyone is interested in prints now they can message me on Facebook and I can get them the prints they want.

7. What is your favorite project that you have done?

So far my favorite project is the bumble bee I’ve done because I really like the detail work.  I’m in the process of arranging an Optimus prime and Megatron to make it a set. Optimus Prime will be done first with Megatron second.

8. What are your plans for the future?

Plans as of right now are to start doing a few more non-cosplay shoots, not that cosplay is a bad thing I just don’t want to be known as just a cosplay body painter. Shoots in the works other then Optimus and Megatron are a group shoot with all the different iron man suits, black light shoot with sugar skulls and elements earth wind fire and water and a few animal shoots with a lion and iguana.
