Favourite non main character from Futurama, this was a tough call as I absolutely love Futurama and it has featured many great non main characters. Ultimately I had to go with the Brain Slugs, I chose these as they always make me smile every time they appear on screen and who can’t help but love their cute appearance yet deadly parasitic ways. My favourite Brain Slug moment has to be when one starved to death due to Fry’s low intelligence, it had me in stitches! Poor Hermes always seems to be the one who get’s caught by one, but as a recurring gag it works. I miss Futurama…….

Okay, this week’s Nerd Talk deals with our favorite secondary characters from Futurama. Well, mine has always been Morbo the Annihilator. Ever since I saw his first newscast I was hooked. What can I say, his low tolerance for the lowly inhabitants of Earth strikes my fancy. Whenever they show the news, he always has the one liners that will crack me up and for that I thank him and say All Hail Morbo!

Futurama is one of those shows that I can always watch. When I was visiting my girlfriend in Wales and we had days where we stayed in, I brought up my laptop and we watched Futurama. I can’t put it on as background noise when I’m doing other work because I’ll end up forgetting what I was doing and watching the show. My first inclination was to pick Morbo but then Zapp Brannigan came to mind, but after more thought I decided that Scruffy Scruffington had to be my pick. He’s the man who laid back as the boiler exploded, still reading his porno mag (Zero-G Juggs) and said “Scruffy’s gonna die the way he lived” and just kept “reading.” He was in a ton of episodes and sometimes just long enough to deliver one amazing line. Scruffy, the zombie janitor. He was one of the main shareholders of Planet Express, fell in love with his wash bucket, and loved his porno.
