Thunderbolts #7 starts a new story arc that deals with the Thunderbolts gang following a lead on some Gamma Bombs that left the island of Kata Jaya.  Yes, this is the same place that we found our anti-heroes freeing the country of a dictator and an insane Gamma powered villain known as the Madman.  It turns out the Madman had used the Leader aka his brother’s ideas of Gamma radiation and made bombs that will cause chaos wherever they are dropped.

Okay, that is enough of a back story, now we find our heroes on a sub trying to find this boat that left the docks of Kata Jaya.  While on this mission loyalties are lost and grudges are made.  One grudge in particular catches my interest because it deals with Deadpool hating the Punisher because Frank and Elektra have a “thing” for each other.  This of course hurts Wade’s feeling because he saw her first.

The loyalties are starting to fade because the Rulk aka Red Hulk aka General Ross has not been honest with his team. Venom suggests a mutiny and Deadpool suggest an all-out attack.  There are those who would suggest getting the Rulk angry while they are on a sub is not the best of ideas, but they know they need to confront Ross one way or another.  They try the attack and lose, but Ross agrees to tell them everything they need to know and want to know. It is during this time that the Leader barges in and knows what his brother has done.  He has not built bombs, he has built a….I’m not going to tell you. You need to pick up this issue for yourself and see.

The writing of Daniel Way continues to be creative and intriguing.  The stories he has produced are great.  The art from Phil Noto gives this book the “umf” it needed to be a great book.  The cover art of Julian Totino Tedesco is just amazing.  In fact, you need to see his work on his deviant art page to truly see how incredibly talented he is.  I give this issue a strong 9 out of 10 rating.  It is a great read and leaves you wanting more.
