All of us here at ‘SomeWhatNerdy’ love to hear from you all, we enjoy your opinions and even your own pages and websites that you have. As the popularity of the site rises we’ve been hearing from more and more of you and it’s great to get in touch with fellow nerds.

But as with anything that becomes more known the mail you get isn’t always nice, now this is expected and we’re not whining about it but one thing has become apparent, a-lot of readers are confused as to why there is a Horror section on a site called ‘SomeWhatNerdy’. Now this isn’t just from comic fans but also from Horror fans as-well. Well, I’m writing this to answer that question and put any claims that there shouldn’t be to rest.

It’s very simple really……. Horror fans and Comic fans aren’t that much different. We both have the same culture base where we are both obsessive about certain aspects of what we love and even hold some of those things very close to our hearts. It’s more than just a hobby or a pastime, it’s a lifestyle and is a very huge part of who you are as a person. It’s something you will defend to the end and can talk about for days on end.

Not just that, you have conventions featuring writers, artist, actors etc from comics to film and more, as do us Horror fans. Heck, they even crossover a-lot these days with Horror stars turning up at comic cons! You like to read comics and so do we, where as you might pick up the newest copy of “X-Men” or “The Punisher” we’ll read “Crossed” or “Army Of Darkness”. Again we’ve even crossed over on that one with “Marvel Zombies vs. The Army Of Darkness” (Which in my opinion was fantastic!), the list goes on and on.

We could even talk merchandise, from everything from figurines to t-shirts to lunch boxes, we’ve both got it all out there and both crowds contain people who stick to the same rules. Figurines remain in the box never to be opened and if you have a rare item you don’t use it, you securely display it. So as you can see there really isn’t that much of a difference between us, just as where you might enjoy super human powers we enjoy gore and monsters.

Truth is I’m a comic book fan myself, I’m a huge fan of comics such as “The Incredible Hulk”, “Batman” and “The Punisher”, I grew up reading the “Avengers” , “Justice League” and “X-Men” comics and I still read a-lot of them. Hell I even read the KISS comics and even have the full collection of every “X-Files” release, so I have a great understanding of both cultures.

Right now both our genres are at a very high peak (you can take that as either a good thing or a bad thing)  so lets just enjoy the ride as best we can. So next time you wonder why there’s a Horror section on ‘SomeWhatNerdy’ just remember that I’m a………..
