Favourite underrated movie? Well this is an easy one for me, it’s Sleepaway Camp! In the Horror genre you hear of Freddy, Michael Myers, Candyman, Pinhead, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees etc but Angela is usually left out. Sleepaway Camp not only has a fucking great story but it also has some well thought out deaths and one of the most shocking endings I’ve ever seen, it’s an ending you will never, EVER forget. What gets me is you even get Horror fans who’ve never heard of it let alone watched it, it’s a great 80’s Horror flick that never really got the recognition it deserved. Now do yourself a favour and go and watch it!!!

My favorite underrated movie is Killer Klowns From Outer Space! I not sure why I love this movie so much but I do. Is it underrated … no its a pretty bad movie and I know it. That doesn’t stop me from watching it at least every few weeks. Its cheesy, its over the top … but its great all the same. From the really great practical effects (which was done pretty damn well for the time and money they used to make the movie) to the awesome character designs on the Klowns.  I have plans for a Klowns tattoo, I got tons of Klown toys, collectables, and Tshirts … and I still hate clowns in real life but I love me some Klowns.  I always love watching it with people who have never seen it, seeing what they will say about it … may be why nobody likes watching movies with me … And if the trailer (Below) doesn’t make you want to watch this movie I don’t know what will!

This week’s topic was our feelings on the most underrated movie. My feeling on this subject is one of my favorites from the ’80’s and that is They Live. I admit, I first saw it because it starred one of my favorite wrestlers, the Hot Rod himself, Roddy Piper. But when I saw the film and how well it was written, I immediately feel in love. It is surely a cult classic, but I think people don’t give it credit where it is due. I mean, aliens hiding amongst us making us follow there subliminal commands to benefit themselves and rob our planet was truly visionary at that time. Sure some of the one liners and acting was a little zany at times, but that is what makes the film great. John Carpenter wrote a masterpiece when he wrote this film. They Live will always be one of my top ten movies from the 80’s if not top ten of all time.

I would have to say that my favorite under rated movie is definitely Masters of the Universe. I grew up watching the epic weekly battle between He-Man and the evil Skeletor and when I ran across the live action movie I was hooked again. I honestly didn’t see this movie until I was in my twenties on some regular basic cable channel. It is such a bad movie that its amazing. Now that I’m writing this post I really want to watch this movie. Check out the trailer below.
