A young couple tries to free an imprisoned child with catastrophic results.

Here we are with the last entry in the series.

The first part of this film actually starts off quite promising and draws you in quickly with a great intro scene, this gave me hope after the travesty that was the made for TV remake. I was especially happy to see Billy Drago, personally I think he’s an under-rated actor.

Unfortunately he isn’t able to help the film from falling apart, what was a promising start just nosedives rapidly as the film rolls on. This is a shame because it starts with so much promise, so much potential, yet once again we are let down by some terrible writing.

Children of the Corn Genesis - Billy Drago

One of the main problems is that the pace never really picks up, well not until the end of the movie. This makes for some pretty dull viewing as the film just drags itself along to a pretty predictable conclusion. The premise sounds so much better on paper yet doesn’t seem to transfer onto the screen.

With no atmosphere to speak of and a plodding story it makes for boring viewing, I honestly wanted to switch it off but I had to sit through it to write this review. I did almost fall asleep towards the ending and I can’t begin to explain to you how much of a rarity that is, I’ve seen some REALLY bad films that at-least kept me awake.

“Children of the Corn – Genesis” is another terrible addition to the series, which is a shame.
